Kampung Story

‘Kampung’ is a Javanese word means Village. ‘Wayang Kulit’ is another term means shadow puppets, which is the heritage of Javanese. Wayang kulit is a unique form of theatre employing light and shadow. Historically, the performance consisted of shadows cast on a cotton screen and an oil lamp. The design of Kampung Story perfectly encapsulates that essence.

To achieve the effect of Wayang Kulit and the experience of being in a Kampung, a series of elements such as carbon filament light bulb, translucent fabric and stained timber are utilised in the execution.
